Certificate in Animal Health and Production
Certificate holders in Animal Health and Production are important in animal value chains since they comprise the Frontline Extension Workers. The certificate graduates play a major role in capacity building livestock producers on good husbandry practices to assure optimal production while minimizing animal health risks. Specifically, they participate in animal disease control, disease surveillance, animal welfare, animal food safety assurance, livestock breeding and breed improvement and training of farmers in modern livestock production technologies that enhance productivity and access to markets.
This certificate course is therefore designed to provide human resource in animal health and production in order to develop the animal resource industry in Kenya for improved food security and safety, better economic growth, employment creation and poverty reduction. This is in line with the economic pillar
of the Kenya Vision 2030. The Programme will draw students from secondary school graduates.

For (B) above an applicant must possess at least D in Biology in KCSE
